Hello my friends! I hope all of you are having a wonderful start to your week as you are reading this. Since I am a mom, I have tried to get into the habit of making my weekends about family. Some times it is easier said than done, but I try to keep that up.
Today, I am starting a new series on the blog that I am hoping will be easy to keep up with. Since I am typically MIA on the weekends, I want to do a little weekend round up on Mondays to get the week started and let you know what I have been up to during my downtime.
Here we go!
I had to work in the morning, but I was able to spend the afternoon with my family. The weather was awful, so Andrew and I spent the afternoon with our precious girl. We spent most of the night in her playroom pretending to eat avocado toast from her Fisher Price kitchen. After baby girl went to sleep, Andrew and I posted up in the movie theater and watched the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) game between UCLA and Alabama. As an alumnus of Alabama, I was so excited to see my team have a perfect game. Montana Fouts is seriously my hero.
Saturdays are family days at our house. Andrew and I put all our focus on getting stuff down around the house and spending quality time with our girl while we are both off of work. Saturday morning, we went to Chick-fil-A as a family and We are also on the hunt for a new TV cabinet that matches your new living room better. We went to Home Goods to look at furniture and walked out with a coffee table book for Andrew, multiple toys for baby girl, and a step stool to help her reach the bathroom sink. Went in to look, and walked out spending $75 on stuff we didn’t have to have.
Saturday night, we met up with some old friends for dinner at State Fare Kitchen and Bar. They have a daughter that is two months older than our girl, so it was fun to watch the two girls interact. State Fare has a great atmosphere and was loud enough that we didn’t thing our kids were too much of a distraction. It was also fun to catch up wit everyone after a year of being apart.
Sunday morning we went to church as a family. It was promotion Sunday for the kids, so there were lots of celebrations and events across the church for all ages. We came home to watch more of the WCWS until that evening. Andrew was nominated to be a deacon at our church, and he had his deacon ordination that evening.
The ceremony was so sweet, and I felt honored to participate in it. All of the new deacons and their wives went to the front of the church and different elder deacons and pastors laid hands on our husbands and prayed over them and their families. I am so unbelievably proud of Andrew. He is such a strong, Christian man. I am so blessed to have him as the spiritual leader of our family.
That’s all I got for this week! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out my Instagram for daily updates about me and the fam!
